Harvest Home/Costa Rica - LAC Mission

Prayer letter in November 2019

I just can’t believe that it is already December.. Last year, on December 7th, we had arrived in Costa Rica and soon it will be full one year. We had expereience so much grace of God in the midst of new environment. Also we had faced some big and small difficulties, burdens and struggles as we do pioneering campus minisry again, adaptation school etc. However, ultimately we want to give thanks and praise to God for letting us be in the grace avenue, place of growth. We had met so many good people, good friends, coworkers, students, and disciples. As we pass this season of thanksgiving and season of Christmas, hoping that everyone who reads this might be able to experience God’s encouragements.

Harvest Home in Costa Rica

Seeding over again, and cultivating, and harvesting was not the simple and easy process but it was totally worth it.

Last Friday, we had “Celebration” time all with students that we’ve met in the campus. It was time of worship, recognition of completing trainings, dance, many many testimonies of students. As I see every each students who were there, I could all remember the first moments that we had met. Because every single students were the ones who could be involved with us by evangelizing or some evangelistic events. Every single person was fruits of our seeding process, and by listening their testimonies, God gave me another brand new power to do it all over again next year.

Honestly, last semester had been a hard time. We couldn’t draw a big picture... we coudln’t expect how the ministry would go. We couldn’t find the students who already have faith. God kept connecting us with the students who are really new believer or even non believer or Catholic. And we had to put so much effort to grow them. We didn’t have enough studetns leaders who can do this work with us. That’s why it had been a difficult times but of course, God also provided us so much joy as we see their growth. We could actually see the students who had converted their faith to Christ through our discipleship or there are some students who are still say that they are not christian but still wants to join our reunion because they see something different that they couldn’t find elsewhere. One of the students in the picture, she is still Catholic but had done all the evangelism training.  All these things were things I’ve experience for the first time in Costa Rica. And I’m so thankful that I can be in the harvest field.

Leadership Gathering for the year 2020

On the first week of November, we had a big conference with the leaders of Lac to talk about our vision and direction for the future. I was really honored to be there with them.

We had a recognition time for Dean and Jannet who were the first Cru missionary 58 years ago. They still serving LAC, specially for Colombia in Miami.

I and my family also had served in LAC for 6 years, and it was such a meaningful and blessing times for my family. Through this time, I dedicated myself again onto the Lord to serve here in the campus and also for the Cru staff who serve in the campus.

CRU LAC - KOREA

Last October, the KCCC Mission Director visited Costa Rica and had time to have further partnership with LAC. Through this time we had decided 8 countries where Korea CCC can be partnering with, which are Argentina, Paraguay, Urguay, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Surinam, Curasao. Pray that God gives me a wisdome to be able to arrange well to have good partnership with these countries.

Family Story

Costa Rica ends school year in November and have two months vacation (We call summer vacation) and starts new year in Feb. University also will have vacation and some of the students will take some summer courses or stay home. We will have short term mission team from Korea at the end of January to beginning of Feb. Sam and Nathan had a great year in their new school in Costa Rica and they love their lives in their school. Hanna also had done campus ministry in the morning , and in the afternoon she had been taking care of kids. On Saturdays, she teaches Korean to the Korean kids who were born here. Each of us have their own routine in this new country, and we are so thankful for this life in Costa Rica.

Campus Team

At the first semester, God provided A6 team and at the second semester God sent us one women stint and 3 weeks ago, one women staff had joined with us to serve in the campus. Hoping that more stinters can join with us. Also, God allowed us to work with 8 American girls from other organization (Adventure in mission). It was our first time to work with other organization and it was totally new experience. Through that time, we could experience tatally new perspectation with various people.

Now, I’m so excited for next year and the upcoming ministry. I want to give all praise to God. But also, I really want to thank all of you who had prayed for us and supported us.

Thank you so much,

Merry Christmas,

and Happy New Year to all!!!!!!!!
