Harvest Home/Costa Rica - LAC Mission

Prayer Letter - 2019.9

Now, we are spending rainy season in Costa Rica. We can enjoy green trees and marvelous sun sets. Even though we can’t see the snow or falling leaves, we really enjoy the nature in Costa Rica.

Emotion Worker

We usually use this term “Emotion Worker” for the person who works in the service area such as telemarketer to express how hard jobs are even though they are not hard work physically.

Thesedays, as we do the ministry by our own, we feel like this job is very emotional occupation. Once again, we had to start ministstry all over again, and as we do that, still, we are missing students in Mexico or in Korea... We still want to work with them, maybe not all over again... I found that we were not enjoying this time in Costa Rica... We do our best to build new movement in UCR, but we didn’t have any joy in it, but just felt exhusting emotionally.

Right now, Korean A6 team just moved to Panama from Colimbia Cali. This A6 team designed to start the campus ministry where there is no ministry. And they had done a great job in Colombia Cali for 6 weeks, and moved to Panama to do it all over again. As I hear them, many of them were sharing about the emotional difficulties when they move to Panama... Since they put too much effort in Cali, they didn’t want to leave... they wanted to stay there longer to spend more time with them... but had to move and start same thing all over again... That fact itself, made them miss the diciples in Cali even more.

And I felt that that is very same to me... even without knowing it, we had a heart that we don’t want to do it again, but want to be with my old disciples. However, I know that since God made me realize this, this is the time to start praying to be able to love the new people here...  all the people whom God allowed to me... Actually, already it is a lot... many new disciples, and coworkers... I really want to ask God to pour us out power to love, power to expect new things.

Also, I felt like we didn’t have good amount of time to be refreshed between ministry in Mexico and Costa Rica (Maybe we didn’t know that we would need that kind of time...) So I really want to take this one week in Panama, to use to be refreshed and renewed. Also, my wife, Hanna will be gone to vision trip with stinter at the end of October, and hopefully that time can be good pause and refreshed time for her, too.

Panama A6

As I mentioned earlier, A6 Panama had started. In Panama, there is only 1 woman single staff in campus. This is really hard situation. Korean team will go to 3 campus for 6 weeks. God allowed them to have many disciples in Colombia Cali, and praying that God is working through them again so that we can see the new labors in Panama. Please pray for them to have new power to do it again.

Ministry in Costa Rica

Now we have one Korean Stinter , Sara Lee. With her, we keep doing the work of evangelize and win new people.

After start new semester, schedule of each students became so different than last semester so we felt the needs of another reunion in other time. Therefore, we started new reunion in faculty of Engineering. This reunion also is going really well, and every week, new people are coming. Also, we are doing basic class to learn how to share the gospel to the potential student leaders.

As I start this sememster God gave a heart of doing deep diciplesship with them. In Costa Rica UCR, we can see that many students already know about gospel, but they just know it but didn’t experience it. So I was desiring that through deeper dicipleship, we can more effect them and change them.

Please pray for these two reunions and time of discipleship.

Family Story

Nathan just turned 4!!!!!!!  He borned in Mexico and now turned 4 in Costa Rica. We had a party at his school.

Sam still loves to play soccer and recently started violin lesson because he really wanted...

Now, we have more things to teach, but most of all, we want to teach tham what is right and wrong but in the same time how to be flexible in each situation.

God allowed to me these two sons, and I really want to be a wise mom to help them to grow in a right path.

Fianancial Needs

In July, August I had three trips to Colombia and one to Guatemala and now I’m in Panama. Also in Costa Rica, we just opened Vision Center. Past two momths, we had big expenses to run the Vision Center, and do all trips. Every thing needs to be covered by personal support. And so far, I didn’t feel any lack of finanace because of all the faithful committments of ministry partners. I really want to appreciate all the committments you had made.

Thank you
