News Letter 2019.7

After 2 months setting up the life in Costa Rica, we’ve received mission team from Korea and Mexico, and we were able to start new movement in University Costa Rica, and Tec de Cartago.

Just through 1st semester of working, we could see the good number of students group, and Multiplying Desciples, Student leader, and Disciples of disciples. Many staff members in Costa Rica had told that they were amazed. We want to glorifiy the name of the Lord, and we are so glad we can have partnership with God. We are also so proud of every single person who reads this letter, who had supported us through prayers and finances.

Model as a Missionary

During this semester, God showed me a couple of missionary model in the Bible. Maybe because I had many thoughts about that, as I work in the multicultural team. I could see many differences between our cultures, or our characters. Also I could find myself that I’m not that generous person who easily accept the differences of others. I felt so difficulties to understand other cultures, or other types of ministry. That was something I have to overcome in my heart, and God had showed me three diferent model in the bible. 1. Jesus Christ who came to the earth as a men even though He is the perfect God. 2. Barnabas who encourages churches and Paul to be a missionary. 3. Levi door keepers who had done their job faithfully even though they are Levi’s. 

I found the common thing of these three, and that was self deny. They were showing us their sacrifices, attitude of serving, and build the community and person. 

God kept pointed out my heart, full of proud and wants me to be humble to be able to love my students and show them a true sacrice to deliver the love of God.

“Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under th elaw), so as to win those under the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.” (1 Cor 9:19-23)

New Role

The most biggiest reason to come to LAC Area team in Costa Rica, is to be the communication line betwen LAC and Korea. That’s why I should be the middle person between LAC and Korea about all the mission partnership such as short term mission, Stint, and A6 or even long term missionary sending process. Start from 22 of July, I will be traveling to Colombia Medellin (Short term mission team from Pyeong An Region in Korea), Guatemala (Short term mission from JeChun Region), Colombia Cali (A6), and Panama (A6). Every trip is not easy to go and it is a big challenge for me as well, but hopefully, this can be a good motivation to have wider partnership between LAC and Korea. 

 

Family Story

We had three weeks of vacation after first semester. My style of spending vacation was sending some of curso de verano o VBS o some type of classes or I take them to the place where they can have fun. However, this time, I couldn’t do that because the car was not retured after car accident. During this time each of my family members had hard time, but could be the big opportunity to spend time together at home to find some bad attitude that we had such as too much watching Youtube, not having good attitude of eating, can’t playing by themselves but needs mom’s help everytime, etc. We had decided to use this time to change bad habits of our family and had worked on that. 

Now, thankfully, the car is returned, and my kids had started their school. Praise the Lord. haha!!

 

Our New Vision Center!!!!!!!!

We had prepared our vision center for the hosue of two stinters and for the place to have trainig and fellowship with students. I really have good memories in our vision center in Mexico, and I still pray that we can have great memories in this place. I wrote our financial needs in the previous new letter, and many people had supported us for this new place and the church we are attending in Corst Rica is also helping us a lot to get the donation many items. I’m so appriciated every single person who had prayed and supported and helped us to open this beautiful place. Thank you so much, and Thank God!!!!!!!!
